What is White Crystal.
To explain a real thing, it is difficult for us not to explain its existence from the perspective of the material level first.What is white crystal?
That is, white crystals, to be precise, white and transparent silica crystals. Its main chemical composition is silicon dioxide, the chemical formula is SiO2.
Chemical composition: silicon dioxide, the chemical composition contains Si-46.7%, O-53.3%. Multiple colors due to the presence of different trace elements or color centers.

The black and transparent one is called ink crystal.
Crystal habit: The crystals with perfect crystallization belong to the trigonal crystal system, often in the form of hexagonal prismatic crystals with developed horizontal lines on the cylindrical surface. Spectacular, the shape can be described as varied. In addition to the common long column shape, there are also sword-like shapes, some like plates, some like short columns, and some like double cones. Some are as small as fingers, some as large as boulders; some are less than half a tael, and some weigh more than 300 kilograms.
Gloss: Glass gloss. The fracture is oily luster. Luster is an optical property of the surface of a gem that reflects light. To observe the luster of the crystal, you can hold it with your hand and watch the reflection on the surface with the light from the lamp or the window. The brightness of the transparent crystal is related to the strength of the luster.
Transparency: Crystal transparency is related to the quality and amount of light that passes through it. When the light is transparent through crystal fragments or flakes with a thickness of more than 1 cm, the reflected image can be clearly seen. If the bottom image is not clear enough and only the outline is visible, it is translucent.
Refractive index (RI): 1.544-1.553, which hardly exceeds this range. (Refractive index is the ratio of the sine of the incident angle to the sine of the refraction angle when light penetrates into the gem crystal from the air and refracts.)
Double Refractive Index (DR): 0.009 (max), this value is very stable.
Dispersion value: 0.013. Dispersion means that the refractive index of a gemstone varies with the illumination light. For example, the refraction of diamond is 2.405 for red light; 2.427 for green light; 2.449 for violet light.
Optical properties: One-axis crystal positive optical properties. The one-axis crystal interference pattern seen under orthogonally polarized light is unique, and its black cross arms do not reach the center, forming a hollow pattern, commonly known as a bull’s eye interference pattern. The center part is usually pale green or pale pink.
Pleochroism: Colorless crystals have no pleochroism. Colored crystals have weak to strong pleochroism. It is manifested in different shades of body color.
Hardness: Mohs hardness is 7, which is Mohs hardness, which is as hard as a steel file. In 1824, an Austrian mineralogist named Frisch Moss extracted 10 varieties from many minerals and measured their relative hardness through scientific experiments, which resulted in a crystal hardness of Mohs 7. Although the US National Bureau of Standards later used and promoted the more scientific Knop hardness tester, jewelers in many countries in the world are still accustomed to the Mohs hardness scale.
Density (specific gravity SG): 2.66 (0.03, 0.02) g/cm3. This means that the weight of a certain volume of crystals is 2.56-2.66 times the weight of the same volume of water. Block variant crystals may be slightly denser.
